The Democratic Central Committee are the elected volunteers of the Maryland democratic party. This committee is necessary and essential to the Maryland democratic party.
Committee members work on the ground level, closer to constituents on behalf of the democratic party. The Democratic Central Committee members perform the functions that help democrats get elected.
There tasks include, but not limited to:
- Fundraise
- staff party booth/events,
- precinct organization
- participate in canvassing operations
- distribute political materials
- perform voter registration
- and many more
The Central Committee members do have a few responsibilities. In the case that theire is an opening in certain offices due to death or resignation, the central committee will fill that vacancy. They can also recommends to the Governor the appointment members for the local county board of elections, and at time makes recommendations to other state and county boards.
