Dr. Antwan Brown is a Family man, Mentor, Veteran, Educator, and Advocate with a passion for politics and a heart for people. A Washington DC native, Antwan works tirelessly to be a “man of the people” and support his community. Moving to Prince George’s County and graduating from Forestville High School, Antwan is not foreign to the challenges associated with issues of neighborhood quality and affordability, teenage fatherhood, and being raised in a single-parent household.
Despite multiple factors against him, Antwan graduated from Livingstone College in 2002, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. While there, Antwan served in multiple leadership roles, along with being an active parent, raising his son during his time as a student. He later advanced his education at Webster University, where he obtained his Master of Arts in Management and Leadership in 2011. He continued his education by earning a Doctor of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2021.
Antwan maintained a posture of leadership and service when he joined the U.S. Army, shortly after graduating from Livingstone College. While in service, Antwan became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity incorporated, to which he continues to serve as an active member. Additionally, with the developed understanding of the importance of mentorship, Antwan established a mentoring program for younger soldiers adapting to military life and culture. He was honorably discharged in 2005.
